Using vacation to “practice” retirement

There are lots of great take-aways in this post from the Wall Street Journal’s “The Experts” column.  The advice contained addresses all five of Fit-t0-Retire’s identified areas of retirement success:  Self-Identity, Social, Personal Relationships, Health & Nutrition and Financial.  One of most interesting suggestions is to “practice retirement” and a summer break from work is a great time to do just that. If you’re looking at retirement in 2016, why not use your time off (now or during your next vacation) to try retirement on for size? Your “test run” could include activities you plan on pursuing, such as volunteering, a regular exercise routine or even an art class.  You just might increase your enthusiasm and decrease your anxiety for when the golden day actually arrives.  You know what they say: Practice makes perfect!
